Traditions
Tuesday, April 14th, 2009As all of you high school seniors venture out to tour your choice colleges, I am sure you will hear about the traditions unique to each school. At Austin Peay we have several traditions that range from our unique cheer of “Let’s Go Peay” to our annual mud volleyball game known as “MudBowl”. This coming Saturday is the date for another of our traditions known as “Plant The Campus Red”. This event has been held every spring since 1999 when a tornado hit campus causing mass amounts of destruction. More than 400 students, faculty and community members participated in the initial event, planting hundreds of red and white flowers in order to “bring life back” to our campus. The purpose of “Plant The Campus Red” is to continue bring the Austin Peay community together to beautify our campus every spring.
