Adventures at Austin Peay

Thursday, March 26th, 2009

One of the newest additions on our campus is the Foy Fitness and Recreation Center. The Foy is an $11.3 million state-of-the-art facility that offers a rock climbing wall, four racquetball courts, an indoor track, an outdoor pool and much more! If you love to get a good workout and are a thrill seeker, one great way to get involved on campus is to participate in one of our University Recreation’s Adventure Recreation excursions. There are usually one or two excursions planned per month for which current students, faculty and staff can participate for a low cost. Some of the past Adventure Recreation outings include; camping and canoeing in the Florida Everglades National Park, backpacking at Rock Town, Georgia, and whitewater rafting on the Ocoee River. Check out the upcoming excursions planned on the University Recreation page on our website!

Come Check Us Out!

It’s spring break time here at Austin Peay! Even though our students are gone, our office will be open all week. I know that many high schools will also be having their spring breaks soon, so it’s a perfect time to come for a campus visit! We’ve already had lots of visitors this week who have found out all that we have to offer. Even if you have already been admitted, a campus tour is a good opportunity to check out some of our housing options if you are still unsure of where you want to stay. Remember, if you want to schedule a tour, call our office at 931-221-7661 or click on the “Campus Visits” link on our Admissions homepage. As always, let us know if you have any questions. I hope you come see us soon!
