On the Road Again
Tuesday, July 10th, 2007I just got back from a journey to Knoxville, TN. I was on a trip to attend the college fair that was held during the Governor’s School for the Sciences and Engineering. It seemed like it was a lot of fun for the students who were there, even though it involved a lot of class time.
At the fair, I was really impressed to see how motivated high school kids are today. The students that attended the program were in the summer before their senior year of high school and at the end of the program would have already earned six to nine hours of college credit. That is a really big chunk of college to have completed before even applying to one and in five weeks none the less!
If you are interested in earning college credit before starting college you don’t have to attend the Governor’s School to do so. You can start right here at Austin Peay State University through our Dual Enrollment program. It is through this program that high school juniors and seniors are able to earn college credit. For more information on the program check out the Austin Peay website by clicking here.
